Title deed – TAPU

Tapu is the only document that proves ownership of a property in Turkey.

Tapu holder can be a private person/persons or a company registered both in Turkey and abroad.

There can be up to 10 individual owners stated in one title deed. The co-owners can have different shares. Each co-owner is entitled to sell his property share to a third party but only by common consent of all other co-owners.

Property price stated in the Tapu is usually much less than the real price of the property, yet it can’t be less than the amount determined by local municipality.
